Early Detection Saves Lives!
We are very excited to offer state-of-the-art Thermography, or infrared imaging of the breasts and full body. This quick, safe, painless, non-radiating, non-invasive, no-contact (no compression) imaging procedure can detect and monitor a number of medical conditions before they become severe.
A full or partial body scan can monitor and map progress for a number of different concerns including cardiovascular disease, breast abnormalities, stroke risk, thyroid issues, digestion problems, headaches, skin cancer, fibromyalgia, unexplained pain, arthritis, nerve damage, dental and TMJ problems, hormonal imbalances, toxins, and much more. This life-saving tool is the only method available for visualizing pain and pathology. This is essential for monitoring any abnormal patterns of inflammation.
Thermography is a proactive approach to health that can detect imbalances long before symptoms appear and substantially increases the possibilities for prevention. Lifestyle changes along with annual scans may eliminate future risks. If you are alerted to abnormal changes on your scan, you can intervene much earlier and work with your doctor and/or healthcare practitioner to address those changes. You may also wish to address diet, vitamin deficiencies, cleansing of toxins and other aspects of healthy living in an attempt to reverse or prevent the progression of disease.
Thermography can provide for the earliest possible detection of cancer
Current research has determined that the key to breast cancer survival rests upon its earliest possible detection. Breast thermography is a diagnostic imaging procedure to aid in the early detection of breast cancer, according to the United Breast Cancer Foundation (www.UBCF.info). By carefully examining changes in the temperature and blood vessels of the breasts, signs of possible cancer or pre-cancerous cell growth may be detected up to 10 years prior to being discovered using any other procedure.
Do you know that approximately 15% of all breast cancers occur in women under 45?
This is the most common cancer in women in this age group. Breast cancers in younger women are usually more aggressive and have poorer survival rates. Breast thermography offers younger women a valuable imaging tool that they can add to their regular breast health check-ups beginning with baseline imaging at age 20.
Cancer cells double in number every 90 days. Tumors are usually first detected by Mammogram around the 8th year of growth. Thermography can detect abnormal growth patterns in the 2nd year! Forty (40) doublings which equals approximately 10 years is considered lethal. It takes years for a tumor to grow before it shows up on a Mammogram. Increase your chances of detecting breast cancer in its earliest stages. Early detection saves lives!
Breast thermography has been researched for over 30 years, and over 800 peer-reviewed breast thermography studies exist.
Studies show that:
- An abnormal image may be the most important marker of high risk for developing breast cancer.
- A persistent abnormal thermogram carries with it a 22 times higher risk of future breast cancer.
- When adding to a women’s regular breast health checkups, a 61% increased survival rate has been realized.
- When used as part of a multimodal approach (clinical examination + mammography + thermography), 95% of early stage cancers will be detected.
- A positive infrared scan may indicate the presence of many different breast abnormalities such as mastitis, benign tumors, fibrocysitc breast disease, cancer, and others.
Thermographic images are taken in our office by a Certified Clinical Thermographer using a Digital Infrared Thermal Imaging (DITI) camera to detect abnormal cellular activity. She then sends the images to a team of certified physicians at Electronic Medical Interpretation who specialize in thermography review, analysis and interpretation. The manufacturer of the state-of-the-art thermal imaging equipment is well established as the market leader in clinical thermography, with the largest network of thermography systems installed in the world.

Young Women and Breast Cancer (October 2013). In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Natural Awakenings Magazine asks Dr. John Foley of BodyCures to share his research and perspective. The majority of breast cancer could be prevented if young people made wiser lifestyle choices, such as eating healthier, avoiding environmental poisons, and making sure that all their organ systems are functioning properly. The earlier we start, the better chance our kids have for a happy, healthy, productive life.
“Every year when Breast Cancer Awareness Month (October) comes around I am a saddened and surprised that thermography hasn’t become more popular. Part of this is my mindset. I’d rather focus on breast health and ways to prevent breast cancer at the cellular level than put the emphasis on testing and retesting until you finally do find something to poke, prod, cut out or radiate. That’s why I call October Breast Health Awareness Month, not Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I understand that mammography has been the gold standard for years. Doctors are the most familiar with this test, and many believe that a mammogram is the best test for detecting breast cancer early. But it’s not. Studies show that a thermogram identifies precancerous or cancerous cells earlier, and produces unambiguous results, which cuts down on additional testing and it doesn’t hurt the body. Isn’t this what women really want?” ~ Christiane Northrup, MD
